Thank you …

Another year is coming to an end. Again, I sucked at keeping everyone up to date this year. Will next year be any different? I guess we shall find out…

For those keeping up with the progress of my stories, I finally made it back out on the field. Well, not 100% but I am back in the plant and out of the office! I am back on crusher box duties, making sure there are no blockages and I get to play with the rock breaker when a rock decides to be difficult.

Crusher box duties mean checking that this baby remains clear at all times.

It has been fun being back out, getting partially dirty whenever I need to hose or do a gap check. It has been a gradual process of getting back into normal operator duties as the wrist is still a bit niggly at times. However, with the magic touch of my brilliant physio the wrist is definitely on the mend.

I am currently in the Philippines for a six week holiday. This is my first Christmas home in 14 years and my first one away from site since I started. The last three Christmases has been spent hanging with Santa while on night shift.

Nearly there!

It’s only been six days since we landed in the Philippines but it has been action packed – cancelled and delayed flights due to storms, Christmas parties with several superheroes and villains, interesting food (for some but normal for most)…

Cooking the Walking Dead – a good cooking show title, right?
THE Death Star Canteen in real life. For those who don’t know what I am talking about, do yourself a favour and watch the clip below – my Christmas present to you guys!

I would update you guys a bit more about the last two months of work but I have to go to another Christmas party now.

But before I go, I just want to say thank you to all of you. To those who take the time to read my ramblings – I hope to entertain you more in the new year! Thanks for all the words of encouragement and the feedback. I truly appreciate it.

Hope everyone has a lovely time in the next few weeks. More stories and photos to come in 2016.

Supposedly its good luck when a bird poops on you. I guess this means that Santa’s present for me will be HUGE this year?

My home town sunset. Who wants to join us on the next trip?
